Smithville Students

Smithville Students

Welcome to Smithville Students. Our mission is to help students grow deep roots in their faith—roots that will last a lifetime. Students from 6th to 12th grade come together to have fun, study Scripture, ask big questions, and do life together. More than anything, we want students to be transformed by Jesus Christ.

Our ministry is committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for our students. Whether you are at the very beginning of your walk with God or looking to go deeper, we would love to have you join us as we learn, grow, and follow Jesus together.

When We Meet

Sunday Worship

Sunday worship at 9:00am or 10:30am is the most important weekly rhythm in the life of our students. Youth group eventually ends for all of our students, but corporate worship never will. Please prioritize worshipping with your 6th-12th grade students regularly.

Engage

Engage is our main weekly student ministry programming. This is youth group. We meet most Sunday nights from 6:30pm to 8pm for a time of fun, snacks, Scripture teaching, and group discussion. Come hang!

Wednesdays

We have a class for students each week during our church meal and study. That takes place most Wednesdays during the school year from 6:00pm-7:30pm.

Other Events

There are so many other awesome events that take place in our student ministry throughout the year, such as camps, conferences, and more. Check out our current student ministry calendar linked below for more information.

Hi there! My name is Matthew. I have the privilege of serving as our Student Pastor at Smithville.

I was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky to loving Christian parents. I've decided there is no better way to live than to make it my goal to look to the LORD and his strength, seeking his face always (see Psalm 105:4). My goal is to help students at Smithville do the same.

I am a graduate of Ozark Christian College in Joplin, Missouri where I received a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Ministry, with a major in preaching and minor in biblical languages. Currently, I am pursuing an M.A. in Bible and Theology at Lincoln Seminary at OCC. I'm a big Bible nerd and love helping others grow in their love of God through love of Scripture.

Never hesitate to reach out to me at matthew@smithvillecc.org (or use the form below) if you have any questions or there is any way I can serve you or your family. Blessings!
